Learn more about features, understand operation, gain insights: digital instruction manuals offer interactive access to the functional operation of a vehicle. Integrated into the infotainment system, drivers can study explanations of the relevant functions on the display instead of spending a long time searching for them in the owner’s manual.
Our client Mercedes-Benz engaged us to compile digital instruction manuals for its G-Class. The client wanted the features of the vehicle – for example, complex assistance systems such as active distance or active brake assistance – to be clearly explained and visualised.
Our creative team worked with our technical editing team to design the content and visual concept. Starting with the script and storyboard, we developed a look that combined a low poly environment with a high poly vehicle. Motion graphics were used to spotlight and understandably explain the individual functions of the assistance systems.
For the G-Class alone, 25 animations were developed, each of which was produced in 45 languages. The look and style we developed is setting the benchmark for further digital instruction manuals for Mercedes-Benz models slated for rollout in the near future.
